A glowing pane of glass and wire,
A pocket-sized, electric fire,
Designed to charm the brightest mind,
And leave our deeper thoughts behind.

We swipe and tap with eager speed,
Before we pause to think or read;
The mind that once in silence grew
Now starves for what is quick and new.

Yet deep within this hurried space,
We hold a more enduring grace:
A quiet spark of common sense,
A shield against the noise intense.

Our minds were forged to weigh and gauge,
Beyond the flicker of the page,
To question deep, to reason well,
And break the clever, captive spell.

So lift your eyes from shaded glass,
And watch the frantic shadows pass;
Reclaim the quiet, thoughtful mind,
And leave the prompt-led pulse behind.
